Class
For puppies under 5 months of age when class begins &/or
toy breeds
under 6 months. (Please note that this age range is flexible,
depending on the puppy's size, confidence level, mental maturity,
etc.
If you are uncertain as to whether or not this is the best
class for
your puppy, email us.)
Puppy socialization & obedience geared for young pups
with short
attention spans. Obedience portion of this class includes
walking on
leash, sit & down, sit for greeting & come. Obstacles
include puppy-
sized agility equipment for confidence building & fun.
Your entire
family is encouraged to attend all of the classes with your
dog.
However, very young children and/or children with very short
attention
spans may find the discussion and demonstration format of
the
Orientation difficult. Do not bring puppies the first week.
Beginning Home Obedience Class
For dogs over 5 months of age. (Please note that this age
range is
flexible, depending on the puppy's/dog's size, confidence
level,
mental maturity, etc. If you are uncertain as to whether or
not this
is the best class for your puppy/dog, email us.)
Lots of work on basic obedience & control, including
controlled
walking, sit, down & stand stay, come, sit for greeting,
go to a rug &
lie down. For dogs with little or no formal training. Even
if you have
done quite a bit of training with your dog at home or through
another
training school, you'll probably still want this class to
get you
started.
Advanced Home Obedience Class
For dogs over 6 months of age who have successfully completed
Beginning Home Obedience. Class works on basic exercises with
food,
toy, people & dog distractions in preparation for off-leash
control.
Drop on recall & stays out of sight are introduced. Bring
your dog &
current training equipment the first week.
Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Practice
& Prep
For dogs who have successfully completed Advanced Home Obedience.
Class continues to practice basic exercises in preparation
for the CGC
test, plus off-leash control, drop on recall and stays out
